Have you discovered the silver bullet that new agents search for?
The real estate industry draws in people from a lot of different backgrounds. But what many new agents have in common is the notion that one factor will set up them up for success.
“I’ll partner with a successful agent.”
“I’ll get really good at social media.”
“I’ll join all the local clubs.”
“I’ll memorise the best sales scripts.”
“I’ll partner with a property developer.”
(Over the years we have heard them all).
The truth is, real estate can be exceptionally rewarding (personally and financially), but we’re sorry to say, there is no silver bullet.
In our experience, the best performing agents have become experts in the multitude of areas that make up the real estate sales cycle – a learning curve that can sometimes prove daunting for rookie agents.
To a rookie, real estate can look as daunting as a jet airline flight deck.
There are many dials, buttons, switches and screens. Each one with a specific purpose. The altimeter tells you how high you are. The airspeed indicator tells you how fast you’re going etc.
Now picture a rookie real estate agent sitting down at their desk on day one. They’ll need to know how all the different parts of the sales process work, e.g.
What questions will I need to answer at open homes?
How do I brief buyers before an auction?
What’s the best way to present a home?
How do I build my personal brand?
What type of marketing methods work best?
What type of sale method will suit a specific property?
It’s a lot to learn, but when you break the process down step-by-step into simple separate parts, you can nail it.
Why step-by step mentoring builds successful careers.
New agents will start out with a laptop, car, phone and a desk to sit at. But then what happens? Well, they’re thrown in the deep end and left to sink or swim!
That doesn’t happen at Barfoot and Thompson Grey Lynn.
We guide every agent (new or experienced) with proven step-by-step one-on-one mentoring. We focus on specific topics and help agents nail them, which builds confidence and expertise. And we keep working through this process until we’ve built a solid foundation for success.
(Just like a trainee pilot would learn all about the altimeter and then the airspeed indicator and so on).
