PROPERTY STAGER'S CRYSTAL BALL

One way to get a feel for what may be coming onto the market is to talk to property stagers.

This week, our manager Andrew Cosgrave called three Auckland staging companies to ask how busy they are at the moment.

Property stagers are usually booked before a home is photographed and marketed, so their forward bookings can give an early indication of listing activity.

The feedback was consistent: they’re busy.

That’s not unusual for this time of year. Vendors wanting to sell and settle before Christmas need to be preparing their homes now, which means staging and photography bookings tend to pick up.

It’s only a small sample, but there doesn’t appear to be any obvious slowdown in activity ahead of the election.

A useful little glimpse into what may be coming to market over the next few weeks.
